Two Factor Authentication (2FA) requires ALL users of a data room to enter a verification code to access the data room and is an additional security feature.

Who can access the Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?

The Two Factor Authentication (2FA) can be accessed by admins and users with the Manage Users & Settings permission enabled.

How do you enable Two Factor Authentication (2FA)?

To enable Two Factor Authentication (2FA):

  1. Login to the desired platform (DealVDR, 17g5.com, or InvestorSet)
  2. Hover over the data room name and select the Manage Settings icon
  3. Scroll down and go to the Additional Security & Disclaimer section of the form

4.  Check off the second box "Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to access this data room" and click Save Changes

5. To test that the changes were saved and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled, log out and log back in to refresh the settings. Once logged back in, click on the data room, which will show a pop-up window with the two-factor authentication

The authentication code will be send via email by default but can be changed to be received via text message if preferred. Once the code is entered, you will automatically be re-directed to the data room.

How often do I need to enter the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?

The Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is only needed once per login session, meaning even if you have multiple data rooms that have this feature enabled you won't be prompted to enter the 2FA again until your session expires.
