It's quick and easy to get started with Finsight's products. This Quick Start Guide will show you how to create a Data Room or Roadshow, and how to use the Deal Manager portal.

Deal Manager Portal

Creating a Data Room or digital Roadshow is easy and only takes minutes. Finsight offers Data Room products for various needs from Rule 17g-5 compliance to periodic investor reporting as well as a digital roadshow product, Deal Roadshow.

If this is your first time using Finsight's products, you must Create your Finsight Account and then log into the Deal Manager portal.

The Deal Manager portal gives you access to all your Applications in the left-hand menu. These applications are Deal Roadshow and Finsight's Data Room products: DealVDR, 17g5, and InvestorSet. In the Deal Manager Portal, you can create and access your Data Rooms or Roadshows as well as view Accounts and Analytics across all your deals. This is your one-stop-shop for managing all your deals.

By default, the Deal Roadshow, DealVDR, and InvestorSet applications are live. You may add other Finsight applications by pressing Add App and activating the desired application.

Create a Data Room

To create a Data Room, go to the DealVDR, 17g5, or InvestorSet application depending on your need for a Data Room. Click on Create Data Room or Create InvestorSet. From here, you will be prompted to enter the following information:

  • Data Room Name: the name of the deal or project.
  • Data Room URL: the dedicated data room URL that allows users to login directly into your data room. The form autofills a default URL depending on the product and Data Room Name. For example, 17g5.com suggests a URL with the following form: https://17g5.com/datarooms/[Up to 16 characters from Data Room Name]. You are welcome to customize the URL to fit your preferences.
  • Transaction Type: (DealVDR and InvestorSet only) the type of deal transaction for the data room. This information be tagged your deal for analytics.
  • Public Listing Option: (InvestorSet only) user can choose to list their Set on the public InvestorSet list allowing investors to request access to the Set.
  • Data Room Logo: (optional) company logo that will be seen by every user that logs on to your data room.
  • Data Room Disclaimer: users can only access a data room upon agreeing to a disclaimer. The default language shown is 17g5.com’s stock disclaimer which can be customized (by typing into the text box). Note: Data room admins are exempt from agreeing to the disclaimer and will bypass the disclaimer window upon login.
  • Enhanced Tagging for Analytics: (optional) additional tagging to your data room that helps enhance your analytics.

Once you have entered all the required fields, simply press Create Data Room to save and you have made the Data Room. You can now Add Files and Users to your Data Room.

Create a Roadshow

In your Deal Manager portal, go to the Deal Roadshow application. Click on Create Roadshow. From here, you will be prompted to enter the following information:

  • Deal Name: (required) the name of the deal or project.
  • Transaction Type: (required) the type of deal transaction for the data room. This information be tagged your deal for analytics.
  • Expiration Date: (required) the date you wish the roadshow should no longer be accessible to any user besides the Deal Managers.
  • Data Room Timezone: (required) the standard timezone for all dates or times listed in your roadshow
  • Entry Code: (required) investors and other users can access the roadshow using either a Single Entry Code or Multiple or Scheduled Entry Codes. In the case of multiple entry codes, you may select the period over which the code is valid so different codes can be sent to different groups of investors. If you enable Dial-In (call in via mobile), you will also see the phone dial-in code with the entry codes.
  • Non-Downloadable Presentation: the presentation you wish to display if displaying Slides in your roadshow. You may create the roadshow before uploading the presentation and simply upload the presentation at a later time.
  • Deal Managers: other users you wish to have the ability to make changes to the deal settings. Deal Managers may also receive Real-Time (RT) Login Alerts and Analytics from the roadshow.
  • Deal Documents, Videos & External Links: upload any documents, videos & external links you wish to be displayed in the right-hand menu of your roadshow. You can set certain file types to View-Only or add a File Disclaimer. Similarly, you can upload video files and link external URLs.
  • Additional Security, Features & Disclaimer: options that you wish to implement to your roadshow to enhance security or add additional features. You may also edit the disclaimer which users will have to accept prior to entering the roadshow.
  • Restrict Access: create a blacklist or whitelist (with or without investor-specific serial numbers) for your roadshow's access.
  • Other (Underwriters & Logo): Link any underwriters to your roadshow and add a logo for your roadshow
  • Enhanced Tagging for Analytics: additional tagging to your data room that helps enhance your analytics.

Once you've filled the required portions of the form, you may Save Draft or Save & Publish your roadshow.

And that's it – you can now begin to manage your different deals from your Deal Manager portal.
